Ship tracking site, worth a sticky?
I found this site by sheer luck. www.aislive.com
If you know your ship's name, you can follow the vessel from its port in Germany to the eastern atlantic. Sorry, but after that, you have to keep checking the ports of call (and their 'approaches") for the vessel. The public site has free registration. I was able to follow the ship my car was on from Bremerhaven, through the North Sea, and again when it stopped in Curacao and Aruba. It was in Kingston,Jamaica harbour yesterday, and has now left port, so, in 1 week's time, after cleanup and programming delivery!!!! I think this site is worth a sticky NB: It may be worth it to compare these maps to Google earth maps for close-up comparisons |

I would add this site as well:
http://www.oceanweather.com/data/ Click on the appropriate part of the map... Click on marine observations (top) This map shows where vessals are on that part of the map. If you cant see the vessal (Freedom = WDB5483)....then click on "observation table" on the upper right corner. This will bring up a list of vessels, where you can see ours (WDB5483) near the bottom of the list. It will show the co-ordinates of the vessal and the time observed at that location.
