Aftermarket M/T pedals
I'm looking for recommendations on aftermarket pedals for a M/T also intersted in footrest/dead pedal. I will not consider cheap knock offs.
Thanks in advance, Jim |

I went with **********s.com pedals
Here is a link to them:
http://www.**********s.com/product.a...=bmw-z4-int001 But I had a Z3 with the BMW oem ones that looked like this and like those just a bit more. The **********s pedals were in a box labeled bimmian.com, so you could get them there too. They were under $100 and easy to install. The BMW ones had replaceble inserts and the screws were countersunk. The **********/bimmian ones has hex screws which did not fill up the screw holes. I am maybe being picky but it would not have been hard to machine the holes to be just a bit larger than the screw heads. Also there were no instructions at all! I've done it before so I knew what to expect, but it would be nice if there was some leaflet with some simple instructions..or even a PDF on-line. I like them though and dont notice the screws from a seated position. You would have to get on your knees and stick your head in under the steering wheel to notice. Also they said Z4 has no dead pedal, although their website seems to make it look like there is. So if you want the full set look somewhere else, unless you dont mind a mismatched set. I will take a picture after lunch and post it up for you. As a side note: if you have aluminum interior these match great! |

I have the "Bimmian" set without the deadpedal it works great, drill 4 holes in each pedal, insert the bolt, put a washer on the back then the nut and tighten down. Pretty straight forward, hardest one is the brake pedal cause it's metal. Other then that looks great, works fine had them on my E46 as well. You can find them for cheaper on eBay the same exact things. Search for the E46 ones if necessary they're all the same for BMWs

hmmm ive been debating whether to get the bimmian or the oem set. apparently they both do no not include dead pedal (which isn't a problem). price is the biggest factor here... ill wait for the pics

The "bimmian" one a.k.a the same one pretty much everyone else is selling (they all come from the same place) will look like this...you may have also seen the same style in replica ACS/M-Tech/Etc.
The OEM Accessory Set looks like this.. |

a friend of mine has a set (definitely not ACS -- which I believe to be OEM since they came on his car from the dealership) on his E90 that look exactly like the ones in the **********s link in Andrewinla's post.

Are you sure the rubber inserts weren't lines at an angle? The other OEM accessory set that is drilled looks like this
That would make more sense if his car was brand new from the dealer, if it was used then aftermarket pedals are a possibility |

His car was new from dealer, im pretty sure they're OEM, no clue on P/N. Looked identical to the ones on the bimmian/********** sites (which is pretty similar to the ACS style). I'll probably end up getting those if OEM doesn't cost 1gazzillion dollars

I got the ACS pedals and I really like them. I do notice that here in Florida when it is very wet outside, the rubber is not quite enough to grip against tennis shoes (at least the ones I am wearing). Ended up waiting a month for the dead pedal due to lack of production.

I've never really had a problem with slippage; but, then again I dont drive very aggressive when it's raining anyways. Of course if I wanted intense grip and wet weather performance I'd just stick with the stock pedal covers, nothing beats a solid block of rubber.

Gas pedal and clutch pedal are easy, brake pedal is a pain to drill through cause it's metal. Other then that, easy, kinda hard working in the tight space under the dash but it's doable.

I have used their products on other cars with great results and these seem to work well too (particularly the heel/toe extension)........and the set I bought can be had for ~$100 right now on their eBay store, the BMW pedal set plus the upgrade to shiny anti-slip is about 50% less than their web site prices

did a search on aftermarket pedals and dug this thread up.
not sure how the z4 pedals are but on my old car, i was able to switch to oem audi rs4 pedals w/o drilling, it was just a cover that slipped on/off. but for our cars, do all aftermarket pedals require drilling? |

The pedals do come drilled, but the pedals in your car are not That's where the drilling comes into play.....

gotcha, in my old car, all the audi oem pedals were pretty much interchangeable, so taking my old off ones meant literally, taking them off. they were just covers with rubber inserts...
do you know if the oem bmw performance pedals also require drilling of stock pedals? |
