HA! I have to wait 6 MONTHS for my M-Sport - and that's with a July production date. Oh well, 1 minute closer to delivery since I started this post.

Nice! I ordered on the 8th and went into production on the 13th! I wanna make it on the boat on the 21st sooooooo bad lol

I'm so envious of you guys getting your cars in production just a few days after ordering.

I ordered 22 Feb, paid a S$22,000 deposit (it's a S$215,000 car) and am not even close to smelling a production date yet. My sales executive told me he'll "try" to put me into the May production.

Shucks, it sucks to be stuck in obviously low-priority Singapore!

OMG!!! that's like EUR 130.000!!! i thought you guys have almost no taxes, 7% only on goods...

I like that color combination, you're going to have a great two-tone interior. I wasn't brave enough to get such a light color myself but damn it'll look mighty elegant.

Doesn't Singapore have some sort of obscenely high car tax as well?

Yes, the obscenely high car tax has been added in the quoted price of S$215,000. The car tax is the "Certificate of Entitlement" (COE), which new car owners (or rather, the dealers on behalf the new owners) bid for the privilege to buy a new car. You're right, Singapore has really low INCOME tax, & there is 7% Goods & Services Tax (our VAT).

But the Singapore government can afford to have low income taxes because they still earn revenue on other indirect ways like the COE and anti-speculation prohibitive stamp duties (if you buy & sell a particular property within 1 year of purchase, you pay 16% stamp duty, 2 years - 12%, 3 years - 8%, 4 years - 4%).

But having said that, I think it's fair because income tax is zero or very low for the majority of the population. While the indirect taxes catch those who have money to spend.

That's for sure, my F30 was significantly less, including sales tax, title and registration fees, than the COE.

It's excellent for using the order tracker and it will be 2000 dollars cheaper than purchasing the Tech Package. I think the google map app is awesome.
