Navi-I drive brightness at night

Hey folks!! for those people with navigation in ur 335, is there a way to decrease the brightness of the navigation screen when driving at night, so the glare of the screen doesn't disturb people sleeping in the back?

wish they put head up display navigation in 3 series..

Yes, you can adjust the brightness via the settings menu for the display.

I am not sure about i-drive, but most vehicles with Nav have an auto setting that when your headlights come on, the back ground of the nav changes from a whiteish to a blackish so as not to strain the eyes.

That is the case on Lexus and Audi, I am assuming that BMW has such a feature

Yessss duuudeeee you cannnn....... click your iDrive knob down at the home screen, or click the menu botton at the home screen. Go to vehicle and settings or whatever.......just look for it, its there, you can easily adjust the brightness. Guess what, you can even find a section to be able to program the buttons on the steering wheel to preform almost any function you want, including shutting off the Nav screen (I have my "diamond" button set to turn it on and off).

Not the case with iDrive, on a 3 series atleast. I know our S500's nav screen goes from white backround in daylight, to black backround as soon as its dark or whenever we enter a garage or something.

I wish BMW nav was like Nissan's nav. It is one of the best I have seen...with the 3-d birds eye view, etc. It also turns black once it detects low light and then back white in the day. My friends that ride in my car say the same thing after they ride in the Pathfinder.

As far as I've seen in mine, the intensity of the iDrive screen is adjusted with the instrument cluster back-lighting. I haven't found a way to get it to dim separately.
