How many miles do you put on your Z in a year?

I bought my Z in May 2006 and I put about 19,700 miles on it already. Im not planning to sell this car ever because it's the first car I bought myself. Having that said, what do you fellas think of putting so many miles on this car in a year? I probably will put about 90,000 miles on it in 5 years. I do maintain my car really well by doing oil changes once every 7.5k miles and wash it every week.

Mine's a fair weather driver - it does about 5000 miles a year.

In my '04 3.0i, it was my only car and I did about 20K miles in its first year.

Now my '06 Z4M, the first 6 months I had it, I put on about 5500 miles. Since the beginning of November to now, I've put on about 950 miles in about 8 months. I don't see myself driving this car more than a couple of hundred miles a month so it'll probably get 2K miles annually.

Well, I don't drive my M when it rains, and living in Seattle doesn't help much either.

300 to 350 miles in a normal week, more if I get out to the canyons for some sport driving.

On the one hand I have put about 3800 miles on mine in 2 months, but almost 1600 miles of that was in a one week road trip in April. I will drive mine year round as a daily commuter, but my commute is only about 10 miles round trip per day.

I am still guessing I will get in between 15-20K per year given that this is so much more fun to drive on road trips than my old S2000. That car had 20K miles on it in 1 week shy of 2 years although I did 27 track events with it and almost 15% of those miles were out on a track.

Weekend use only, to the beach or a run in the country. Between 3 - 5K per year (but I would like to put 11K over 6 weeks and do the Blusie Run)

The wife drives it 5 days a week, 3 miles each way. We purchased ours Sept.24, 2004. So, rounding things off. that makes it about 33 months. We currently have 91k on the car. We average 30k + per year. By the time we get back from HC07 we will be very close to 100k. The car should be about broke in by that time.

Funny you should say that, because I actually thought of sellecting that.

But would farppacino count as a drug?

Over 15K a year in my old Z4 3.0i....but with this new M, I find myself making less pointless drives and am thinking under 15K this year. Ive had it since January and only have 3900 so far....

Nice .

I'm pushing about 14k a year (and only 3 front bumpers...lol).

Speaking of miles, 5k way from my warranty expiring...any words of wisdom from anyone???
- What should I have my dealer service/check?
- Does it pay to purchase the extended warranty?

I do have the extended warranty and service. I think it is a good deal.

But, please explain the 3 front bumpers...i only have one on my car....is there a story or two behind this. Inquiring minds need to know.

Yes do tell. What are the stories.

If you have scrapes on interior plastic parts ( around the steering wheel or dash or center console ) complain and get them replaced. Hood or panel alignments. Sticky steering issues. Stero issues. You can try for seat wear issues. You may want to have them check out the front distance censor ( distance from curb to bumper). Front bumper issues are not covered.

Well Rosie, the front bumper issues were well described in Z4um...but yes, it's true...this is my 3rd front bumper in 3 years.

#1 - bumper fell victim to a high curb and slopped parking (1 week old )
#2 - I looked away for a split second...honest officer, I don't know what happened ...small fender bender but enough to crack the bumper
#3 - (current bumper)..Decided to try out the Aero front bumper since I had the aero skirts installed about a year ago and it completes the lines around the car.

I really wanted the Hammon front bumper but they wanted some insane amount of money for it (like $1700 just for the part). However...all good things come to those who wait. I'm fully expecting IMZ4N and the SoCal boys will soon start a pool on when I crack the next one
