BMW E90 Lights
Hello.
I have read, searched, and still cannot find the right answer. I have the chance of getting my hands on 2 new OEM bi xenon european headlights for the E90. Now I have the halogen headlights. My question is: after doing the wire"modification", installing the lights, will I have to do some coding? If so, can someone please, just tell me which coding should I do? There are 100's of "opinions" in the forum, but no definite answer. Or I just could not find it. Thanks |

Yes you will have to do coding, the car needs to be told it has xenons instead of halogens. If they are adaptive then the controllers for that need to be coded too.

Hi. Thanks for reply.
I have been reading (a lot!!) and for what I understand, I will have to code out all the warm and cold lights check, and all the other options that my car don't have, right? Also, one more question, the lights I will probably get are bi-xenons. Will that be a problem, for the high beams for example? I have read the DYI on doing the change from halogen to xenon (not the retrofit $$$) but it does not say nothing about bi-xenon. Once again thanks for your help. |
