is the demand for the new 335 similiar to what demand for the E46 330 when it came out

I wasn't old enough to even drive when the E46 came out, but I doubt it...simply the twin turbo factor is causing such a big buzz..at a reasonable price as well.
I don't think for the 50K price mark..you can find another car with the styling/comfort/speed/features of a 335i...making it such a unique car for its class. |

If I'm not mistaken, their profits and sales started to shoot up since Chris Bangel came to work for BMW. Maybe people really like the new designs? The price for what you get in all the BMWs is a great deal imo.

i would still say the e46 330 is doing better than the 335... but the 335's only been out for less than a year!

i think the demand for the e92 in general is higher than previous models, but that's about it...the 335 has definitely caught the eyes of people that just look at numbers though

No it wasn't... I got an '01 330i in 2001, the first year it came out. Although it wasn't crazy like the 335(i.e. you practically have to order one), you didn't find the dealer littered with them.
That year was the same year the m3 came out, so it stole the thunder imo. One things for sure, there are a hell of alot of first time BMW buyers because the 335, and it's getting annoying seeing some of their posts here. |

i think there would be even bigger "buz" in australia over it if it cost us 50k USD... that's what, 80k AUD? we pay 120K AUD here (or there abouts)

I ordered an '04 330ci cabrio in March 2004. It took me 10 weeks to get it. I ordered the 335i cabrio in March '07 and it took me 13 weeks to get it. Not really much difference.

I had to order my E46 the same way that I had to order my E92, but the difference was that there were E46's sitting on the lot if I wanted one that was already built. Although I wouldn't have gone that route, that option wasn't available for the 335 since the only cars I ever saw on the lot was a single demo car at every dealer.

I bought the E46 330ci convert. back in 2001 and I remember it getting alot of buzz......but not as much as the E92 335 is getting. The e46 M3, however, got ALOT of attention when it came out.
I love BMW..... We've grown up with BMW's, as my mother recalls from her childhood when her uncle would take her and her friends out in his green 2002tii (that was brand new in its day) and do donuts and burnouts.
