My car has a cold....

The last 2 times I've cold started (mornings).....,
right after it fires up it has a little cough & then it's fine.

I've also noticed lately that it seems to turn over a couple of extra times B4 firing up.
- again only when cold.

Otherwise it runs great.
Through the day I don't get these symptoms at all.

The owners manual says to give it a lil gas before you start cold if you have troubles.

Interesting.... I wonder what they mean by "troubles"

This is a new behavior, which would suggest something has changed.
& You'd think the fuel pump would charge the system sufficiently.

If the procedure above is correct and is ever going to work you would need to turn the key on first.

Seeing how our cars have no physical connection between the pedal and the engine ( meaning its not a ford or chevy ) , Fly by wire. Pushing the pedal without the key on is useless. IMHO

Yeah my thought as well...
I was thinking about just pausing in position 1 to let the fuel pump charge the system.

I agree with you, that if the operation has changed, there may be something else going on. Do you ever put a gas treatment in your tank? I travel a good bit and have gotten marginal gas before. My Z did like you say cough. I added some gas treatment and have not had any issue since.

It's obviously not a direct quote but I remember reading something to that effect. It should be in the M supplement. Check it out.

Mine started the same thing about two weeks ago - starts, revs come up and then dive almost stalling and then it catches?

^ yes exactly.... almost like a little cough then catches.
I'm going to try leaving the key is pos 1 a second or two, to let the fuel pump fully pressurize to see if that does anything.

If it makes you guys feel any better - mine does it too on occasion. It is more likely to do it if it has not been driven for 2 or 3 days.
