Wood Trim differences

Quick question on the wood trim on the 335i sedans.

The website lists Burl Walnut and Poplar Natural

The 5 series lists Poplar Grain and Light Poplar

Thge X3 has Poplar Natural Light

Somehow, I ended up with Light Poplar Natural on my order.

Which one am I getting?

E90 has three trim choices: Burl Walnut (which is the darker of the wood colors), Poplar (which is the lighter of the wood colors), and Aluminum. You are apparently getting the Poplar.

Good question, they all have different option codes (3 series, 5 series and X3) usually indicating a different type of wood/trim.

yes, I have light poplar...but on the E60 the 2 different poplars (light and dark) are option code 437 and 438 and its something else on the X3. But for aluminum trim its the same between the 3er and the X3. So I think the poplars are different.

Ah I see in the brochure, the Poplar Natural is 4AC, thanx! Do you have pics of yours, what color is your interior?

I matched light poplar with black...I love the contrast, burl was too cliched and dark and I wasn't into aluminum at the time.

Poplar is a hard wood to photograph...a little bit of a blue hue on this pic but you get the idea.

Thanx, just what I was looking for, looks much better than the Burl for sure.

I had light poplar on my previous car as well. Looks really nice with a sand beige / black two tone interior
