Battery cable recall
BMW is recalling 1.3 million 3 and 5'ers from MYs 2003-2010 for battery cable issue. I just spent $300 out of pocket on replacing the positive battery cable which was giving an error that lead to my airbags being de-activated. I wonder if the issues are related...

Can you elaborate? Sunday when I started my car my airbag light and seatbelt light came up on the dash. I buckled my seatbelt but it did not go away.

What "it"? Just because something was wrong with your battery cable does not mean that it is in any way related to the recall in question.
This 5- and 6-series recall is about "incorrectly mounted battery cable covers". Did your problem have anything to do with battery cable cover? Last edited by AndreyT; 03-27-2012 at 12:15 PM.. |
