Fuel Pump - To install or not to install?

I got a call today that my new FP has arrived. My car is a 10/06 production with ~8000 miles. The only issue is that my car has a slightly long crank up to 3 secs and everything else, car is fine. HPP was ordered due to my concerns about the long cranks. My question is, is it worth it to install the new FP (don't know if it is the updated one or not, but my SA says it is) or just stick with my current FP until it fails. I'm just worry about the new FP, if i do get it install and it fails on me, or it doesn't fix the main issue of long cranks.

Yes, they did some test procedures and they couldn't fix the issue of long cranks. They think the long cranks are cause due to the fuel pump, thats the reason for them ordering the part for me, and with the new FP, hopefully it will fix the issue.

I had the same problem, it seemed to get worse and the pump will eventually fail and leave you stranded. I would highly suggest that you get the latest version if not as a simple insurance policy.

I forgot to mention, the long cranks have been happening since March 07, but never any bad cranks.
