Pic Request: 20x9.5 and 20x10.5 wheel tire sizes

I'm looking at an aggressive setup for my next set of wheels, but i'm trying to decide on a nice rounded tire size that will allow them to fit in my wheel well nice and snug.

I'm trying to get pretty skinny but some stretch can look drastically different than others. Can you guys help me out?

Please post up your Tire specs and Pics on your 20x9.5's and 20x10.5's... thanks!

The wheels i'm getting are 20x9.5(ET45) and 20x10.5(ET40)

I'm diggin the "test fit" thread with the et36 10.5" rears... 4mm would be pretty close to that 255/30/20... you think a 245/30/20 would make it a -little- bit thinner?

and did you ever come to a conclusion on your wheel/tire setup?

9.5 fronts with a et45 offset will not work. It will definitely hit the shock/strut. I believe you have to run a 33 offset or lower to pull that off

i can probably run 10mm spacers all around for adjustment purposes, that's not really a problem [it's easier to get them pushed out from the car, rather than shaving a low offset to fit into the car]... my first concern is the right tire size with the look i want.

Yeah those widths from and rear are going to need some modifications to run without rubbing.

Im running 20X10 rear with 285/25/20 nitto 555 lowered H&R sports and rub on dips in the roads, going to get my rear fenders rolled soon..

your 285's are already too big for what i'm looking for... 255/30/20 looked pretty good for 10.5" wheels, but i'm looking for what looks good on a 9.5" wheel. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess 235/35/20 would probably get the look i'm going for... (based off of 225/30/20 on 8.5" is DAMN skinny, so if i widen then slightly, and add a proportional height to the mix, i think it will be well rounded like i want.)

BTW, the wheels i'm getting are from the E70 X5, gloss black:

my thoughts exactly. ^__^ I'm considering getting a red stripe painted around the lip before i install them... the wheels i have now have the stripe and it really sets the tone for my whole color scheme.

I think the red stripe would definitely add to the overall look, can't wait to see them installed. How much do they run?

Why wouldn't ET40 and a 285 tire fit?

Rubs on the strut? Sure as hell won't rub the fender

i didn't say they won't FIT, i just said they're too big for what i'm looking for. I'm trying to get a ROUND look (think 'hellaflush') to the setup, not a squared look.

Than u shouldn't be looking at ET40 wheels. (unless they are 11.5" wide)

as previously stated, i can always throw spacers on the setup to get the exact look i'm going for. IMO, it's better to be able to push the wheels out than to be limited by offset and have to shave the wheel to bring them closer to the body of the car.
Besides, i'm on H&R sport springs right now and the current 20" wheels (on the rear) are sunken into the wheel well (height-wise) pretty good, so i don't want to have too much poke cuz then it'll just cause problems. It's easier to just measure after a test fit and see what size spacers i need.
