Had a 335i loaner this past weeked...

Took my car in on Thursday and got a E90 335i Auto. I'm in love. I really didn't want to give it back on Saturday, but after 191 miles without the sport package, I wanted my car back.

That car has to be ridiculously under ratted. My butt dyno tells me that it would tromp all over my 330 under any conditions. The auto actually surprised me because it wasn't as bad as I had imagined it, but still far away from being as good as a 6 speed.

When I filed up, I put in 12.3 gallons, which ended up ~15.3 MPG. Granted, I drove the shit out of the car.

It also had iDrive, so I got to use the Traffic and the new CIP version.

If you are at all on the fence about it, just get the 335, its well worth it.

the 335 is tooo fast if you ask me . By the time you feel the butt dyno your already at 60mph and ready to get pulled over.

Not sure why you were surprised....

1.) the E90 & E92 with the 335i engine are just about dead even.

2.) The 335i engine's advertised numbers are 45hp & 80ft/lbs torque over last year's 330i. And everyone knows the advertised numbers are pure fiction because most cars dyno around 270-285hp at the wheels, so the engine is making considerably more than 300hp at the crank.

In stock trim, a 335i will walk a 330i any day of the week. Would be kinda pointless if it didn't...

Tell me about it. A loaner is what hooked me and got me off the dime to sell my Z4 for one. Funny thing is if dealerships only knew what great sales tools loaners were maybe they'd be more generous and wouldn't give out dirty Enterprise Toyota Crapollas that wreak of smoke and day old coffee.

1. I've never drive an E92. I wasn't saying that either one is slower than the other...

2. I was just expressing my newfound love for the 335 and how it's a lot more under ratted than my 330.

When I was buying my car, my salesman told me that because they are the biggest dealership in the state, they have over 40 bmw's in their loaner program, which is always a nice thing...they have two 335's.

SALES! Here they have about 80 loaners at my dealership. The last time I was over, I saw they now have 328 and 335 COUPES for loaners. Sell Sell Sell!

3 series makes up ~ 50% of BMW's sales, so it's not going to stay "rare"

I rarely see the 335i around LA. I saw my first 335i sedan last week, and I've seen like maybe 5 or 6 coupes in total, ever; from SD to SF.

My 335i definetly feels underpowered Its stock. I got too used to the speed. Maybe its time for an upgrade.

What does the Procede run? $1200 or so? And there is supposed to be a newer version out soon, I believe. That should return the smile to your face.
