Gas brand question

Not sure why my original post was moved to the Cali forum but I would like to get some feedback so I'm posting it again.

Anyone know anything about Irving Gas? (The company is Irving Gas, not Irving California.)

I drove by a new one this morning and noticed their premium gas was $2.87/per gallon compared to $3.15+ at mobile and Shell?

Is this good gas? If not good enough for BMW can I at least use it in my Nissan?

Youll be spending on one gallon what I spend on gas in two months.

I use top tier gas. In Connecticut, that is Shell..

TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is the premier standard for gasoline performance. Six of the world's top automakers, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi recognize that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.

BTW, there is no "Irving", California. There's an Irving, TX...

And here in NorCal, we pay about $3.30-3.50/gal for premium...

Get out of here with your 3.16 Premium gas prices.. Bunch of bastards!

Long Island mobil/exxon

$3.29 reg
$3.39 89oct
$3.49 93oct

just for refernece.

I almost always try to use BP or Hess, Citgo.. etc.. try to avoid Exxon/Mobil when possible, they represent everything that is wrong in the world in my opinion:

now to answer the OP question.. this has been discussed many times. whether gas is gas or do some companies better refine there gas. I say, unless you are a race car driver. save money were possible. go with what is cheaper, your won't be able to notice a difference 99.9% of the time

So places like Mobil, Exxon and Sunoco are not top tier?

My local Sunoco has 93 for $2.99 right now. Gonna fill up today.

Figured if prices stayed fixed at the rate it is now, and the average around the country is $.40 higher for 93. If you fill up 15 full gallons each time 3 times a month, that would be a savings of $216/yr. I can see me spending that mod money now. And who says Jersey is good for nothing...

Try DC Metro area:

$3.50 for 93

i don't think the brand matters as much, I was putting in Shell V-Power 93 octane and my fuel pump still died after 2,700 miles. Just use any gas with the correct octane rating.

Sh*t, I was outside of Sacramento yesterday, and saw Chevron 91 for $3.31/gal, and thought it was a steal!

Irving Oil is a Canadian company. They sell gas. Their gas is probably quite similar to the gas sold by other gas retailers. But they aren't on the top tier list...

We got you all beat here in Chicago. Premium in the city is anywhere from $3.79 to a much as $4.19 a gallon. 93 octane from the nearest gas station to me is $3.89.

I also only use Shell V Power 93. It is 3.49 here on Long island. As far as I know Shell is the only fuel that is "TOP TIER" here in NY. I have 5100 miles on my 335i and so far so good.

93 octane is not readily available here in Cali, although some 76 stations carry it.
