RS4 Toasted

Hey Guys

Installed my procede about a week ago, living at high level not sea level so RS4 is losing some power and turbo is king but the only thing stopping me from eating my friends RS4 up completely is traction lol ill still be in front of him but the tyres are still spinning. Even when we do a rolling drag as soon as my foot goes down no traction damn RS4 and the 4 wheel drive. Now my next project how do i get more traction. Iv got huge tyres so whats next

Make sure your tires are warm. Makes a huge difference.
At the price of LSD+install one can have xi. Xi=A LOT more traction than LSD. (This advice comes a bit late, I know.)

Nice and wide high end tires make a big difference. Im running 10.5'' in the rear and 9'' in the front on falken fk452's and it makes a huge difference in relation to traction.

That would be a brilliant solution if it fits.

Cheers.

no way, forget it. Buy a quaife, if U have the older type of non-welded diff, U'll love it.

The xi is fine, nuthing against it, but there is a reason most of the sports cars (e.g. the M's) are RWD... utfg

There is something wrong with me as I never learn what is a "sports car". I was told I did not have a sports car, because I had too many doors in my M5 and Lancia Delta integrale. M5 I understand, because that has not been involved in racing, but Integrale is World Champion 6 times in a row (Rally)... I was told that a sports car is a car like Porsche 911. (Btw. having both RWD and 4WD models) So I don't know if M-cars are sports cars or not. I better take your word for it

In competition / motor sports one of the major reasons for not having 4wd cars are the rules. Where rules allow, 4WD cars are very strong.

I was told by a BMW specialist in Sydney that the Drexler LSD was the only one worth considering. They wanted US$4,800 to install it.

Is the Quaife as good and/or cheaper?

Cheers.

Im surprised ur still having so much problems even with stickier tires, tires are the easiest way to get the most traction. make sure u got good ones.

Stating s/t like that means lack of knowledge or he sells Drexler and pulls your finger, either way it would definitely stop me doing business with him.

I dont know Drexler "in person", I just heard they make some hot stuff + have nice background on rally, but so does Quaife. I'd say they are pretty comparative. Quality of both is superior. Drexler makes electronically controlled clutch type diffs? Quaife mechanical torsen type. If Quaife is cheeper (and it is), I'd definitely go with them. U won't regret. Once having it installed U can go to visit that BMW specialist, make a brutal both-wheel-spin in front of him and tell him to go f*ck himself.

read it and check your car before ordering anything
