Talking New To German Cars, not the forums

Hi all,

New to your community - name is Ryan and I am from Long Island originally but now reside in Hoboken. I currently own a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with 64K (insert pics or its not real joke) - I have them on my laptop back home and will be sure to post some.

Anyways, unfortunately the time has come to step out of my raw-performance SUV (about 490 HP to the wheels) and step into an elegant 3-series.

I will be looking to sell the Jeep as well - not sure on the price yet but looking to ask for low-mid 30s since the truck is immaculate with a variety of nice touches both visually and performance-based.

Looking to step into a BMW 335 XI and looking to go used since the car is not a daily driver and will be a garage queen except for when I need to travel around Long Island or go skiing upstate.

Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to learn more about these amazing machines.

Thanks for the welcome! RedKev, yes it most definitely is....when I was looking for my SRT8 I researched for about 4 months before pulling the trigger...I do know that I would like to stick with AWD due to the inclement winters we can get here in New York...and now as for engines, need something that gets more than 10-12 MPG hahaha...but still like to have fun behind the wheel so I'm leaning primarily torwards the 335 as opposed to 328...

I know the feeling it took me a while to find mine as well, a MT was a pain to locate since i didn't order it.
Awd is great it only pains me that BMW made them sit so high lol.
In these days, where it's almost 5 bucks a gallon 10 mpg must def hurt, but I've heard the Srt8 and it's exhaust note is so
the 328 is no slouch either but IMO I had to have the turbo lol

This forum will help a-lot to help decide on your pick! Good Luck again dude

HAHAH the new is too tame?...Well, take it from a current 6.1 owner, the new Jeep SRT8 is slower 0-60 and 1/4 mile all while having 50 more HP...but to blame is a much nicer interior and creature comforts...

Thank you for the welcome!
