e93 huge markup?
I was at my dealership today to drop off my car for service and i saw that they have some e93s. they had a huge markup on these cars: 5000 dollars on the 335i and 2500 dollars on 328i.

I see you're in Cali. East Bay BMW (in Pleasanton) will NOT mark up cars. You may have to wait to get what you want though. A few months ago they had an Alpina B7 in stock, and sold it for list.
Let me know if you want the name of my CA.

Could be worse. Mustang GT500s are going for $20k over MSRP...!!! And I'm sure the new Mustang KR (king of the road...what a retarded name) is sure to go even higher over sticker with its 540hp engine.
Like others have said, dealers with a long term customer service strategy will not charge over invoice.

First of all, I would NEVER pay over MSRP for any car. That just doesn't make sense to me and quite frankly dealers should be ashamed of themselves for marking the price up. My local dealer said if an out of state customer wants one of his e93 335's they're going to have to shell out $8,000 over MSRP! WHAT A JOKE! Whoever buys these cars for thousands over msrp should have their heads examined. Wait a few months and these cars, like most cars, will be going for a few thousand over invoice...

First rule of economics is Supply and Demand. Demand goes up, supply goes down, price goes up.

tell them to sell you the e93 for $1000 over invoice or else you'll bash their heads into the hood.

Here in old Rochester, NY I got a fully loaded 335i E93 for ~$2,000 UNDER invoice. Ordered MArch 13th and picked it up JUne 4th.
IT IS AWESOME !!!!

There was a Scumbag Dealership in Longbeach where they thought they would be clever and jack up the prices...
High demand=Gouging. Same kind of scumbag Greedy mentality that has bottled water or Gasoline prices jacked up when a hurricane is inbound... Granted an E90 is a necessity but it's the same type scummy mindset. What was comical was the POS Ford Shelby GT500s. Same Freaking tin-can rattle trap as the rest of the mustang line, but here you get to pay $50k or so for the "pleasure". But Wait there is more, I saw a GT500 down the road at the local Ford Dealership with a $23k premium added on.... Yup they were expecting to get like $70k or so out of a freaking mustang... I laughed, pointed and laughed, and then laughed more when the sales manager asked me what I thought was so funny...

Respectfully, you're wrong. Why would anyone pay more than a car is worth? This isn't a ferrari we're talking about, it's an entry level BMW. I would never pay more than the car is worth!

I'm surprised that some people in this thread don't know the difference between MSRP and Invoice.
That being said, any dealer i've ever been at, said you don't need to pay over MSRP if you are going to actually get the car. |

But I digress, there's still no sense in paying over MSRP. Dealers are taking advantage of people with these cars. $8000 over MSRP is absurd! |
