Space Grey, fox red, 19s, disguised CF roof

Seemed worthy of its own post (esp. since it is the color combo I want!).

It does look good, but it just doesn't look like a $60,000 car, let alone a 70K car. I really think BMW is going to over price this thing, and that if I buy it I'll be paying about 15 grand JUST for the M badge, even with all the performance enhancements over the 335.

It appears to be covered up in tape or of some sort, they should've peeled the whole thing off

Clue?

Guys, get a clue. The exposed CF is the real roof, hidden with a layer of body matched paint to keep the CF hidden. This was done in much earlier stages of testing to keep the CF roof secret.

Cool, nice pics.

I think I am going to either paint my wheels black, or get aftermarket wheels in black with a silver lip. The car just looks better with dark wheels. The stock wheels look so bulky.

I am still concerned about how the CF Roof coating is going to hold up. How are the roofs on the M6's doing? My Evo CF wing coating just looks worse and worse, and it's only been 2.5 years. I'm not saying BMW would have the same quality as Mitsu, but there's no assurance BMW has perfected the CF gloss coating process either.... only time will tell.

Its the same quality as their M6 roofs which so far have a great run record! and if i am not mistaken doesnt the CSL have a CF roof and I havent heard any complaints their. I have personally seen the CF roof on the M6 and I can tell you its better than any other subby, evo, etc.. bull crap out on the market. it has an excellent shine to it and will really compliment the car!

that is the same combo i wanted but maybe the polished wheels but i do like the look of the black wheels, makes it look even bulkier and aggresive IMO, but my wife doesnt like the look of fox red i thought it was nice, but am considering palladium silver instead but will make final decission after seeing in person also gonna get the carbon leather trim, any thoughts appreciated.

the disguise gives me hope as i want the sedan with CF, that paint peeling reminds me of the film JACKAL bruce willis with his mini van.:rocks:

it doesnt look like a mega expensive car which i think is good, makes less people angry at u, u will find less dents and scratches on it wfrom haters, my friends ferrari used have mirrors knocked eggs thrown on it poser scratched in it aswell as i have a small penis, so i always prefer understated cars, as they are WOLFS in sheeps clothing, any way i have always thoought this kinda car you buy for yourself, as already stated on the site if you want sumat that LOOKS expensive i would suggest the M6 which is off da hook!!

Like the hidden CF the black wheels were early prototypes just to hide the design until a bit after the concept was shown in Geneva. Black WILL NOT be available from factory. See the configurator at bmw.com if you think they will be.

That is my favorite interior color. The CF looks real nice. I didnt realize the roof was covering up. I thought it was just shadow too.

I was thinking Space as well, but now I think it is too dark. I want the CF roof to stand out. With Space, I think the roof will be almost indistinguishible from the rest of the car from certain angles and in certain light. There really is no good silver option, IMHO. I do not like Silverstone because of its blueish hue in certain light. I wish a simple bright silver was available.

I think it may be white for me.

Not feeling the wheels at all.
They look like they have 2yrs worth of brake dust on them.

I love that combo, one of my options & I also love the rims I hope they put them out so I can get them, just think about how much less your going to have to clean the wheels if you get these-car could be clean as a whistle but on BMW's your rims are usually dirty...

I agree with some of the above comments. This M3 (maybe because of its color) doesn't look like a $60,000+ car. A little bland - no contrast. The black rims further cheapen its look (IMO) - partial to chrome. I'm good with a coupe in Alpine (any color interior), CF roof, and CHROME rims. However, my choice will probably be a sedan in monaco blue?? with grey interior, moon roof (no CF) and chrome rims...... To each his own...
