Coathanger launcher...

So what's the deal with this coathanger accessory? I just installed it today and everytime I let the front seat snap back into it's full upright & locked position, the top plastic coathanger piece goes flying into the backseat at near mach speed. I'm almost afraid to let anyone sit back there. Am I supposed to glue the coathanger piece to the mount or something? Any suggestions?

You have a 335i, you have to expect things to move fast!

I hear they work ok on the 328i.

Make certain you have assembled the two parts in the proper orientation. Seems to me, though, it's a one way fit but I don't remember. Unless you have plans to take it off and store it somewhere until needed, I'd suggest gluing it. Another option would be to wrap a narrow strip of 600 grit sandpaper over the stem before putting on the arms.

Ok I got some velcro. I put a little strip on the inside of the detachable piece where the post goes in. I used the soft side of the velcro. This made it a slightly tighter fit and is just barely enough to keep it from flying off...

Mine does the same thing. I was pondering a fix. Silicone adhesive? piece of latex from some rubber gloves????
