Please tell me about PROcede

Hi,

I know there is tons of information about it available here, but I am looking for newbie information. And - maybe because of a language barrier - I don't seem to get much clue from the vendor's website. It doesn't seem to be very detailed.

What exactly is PROcede? I know it's not a chip, right? Is it a box? What kind of performance gain can I expect? I am not looking for 0-60 or plain horse power figures, I am talking about real-world examples. Will it give me more power only at certain levels or throughout the whole power bandwidth? e.g. say I am driving 180 km/h and want to push forwar really quick to pass another car, will PROcede shine here? Or ist it just a boost in at lower speeds?

I am in Germany, so I am used to very high speeds, please keep that in mind. I don't care much for city speeds, I am looking for more power in day to day Autobahn situations (e.g. 120 km/h upwards).

Also, can I install the system myself? What exactly needs to be done to get it hooked up? Can someone with absoluteley zero experience in fiddling with cars do it?

Thanks for your input!

oh and while we are at it, one more question: will the added power also introduce a lower mpg, e.g. does it need more gasoline?

Before someone hammers you with the search icon, I will try and respond:

We do not have much information yet from the Euro crowd on how the PROcede affects autobahn performance. That said, it looks most promising. The power curve is up across the entire rpm range. v2.0 may have a speed unlimited option.

Yes you can install it yourself. There are many threads on DIY experiences.

Gas mileage is not affected except at WOT. If you are traveling at 300 kph you will use a lot more petrol than at 250 kph.

Maybe try starting a thread with a title like "PROcede in Euro" -- it would be most interesting. There were a bunch of Euro guys trying to get Shiv to come over for a tour in Sweden and Germany. There seem to be at least a half dozen or so US guys stationed in Euro that are getting PROceded.

I think the autobahns will be the most interesting test of the PROcede. Hartge has an amped 335, but the PROcede has even more power. I would have given it a try on my ED if it had been available.

I would like to know what is the fuel consumption at 300km/h w/ Procede. Could it be quicker to drive at 270km/h only assuming that a pit stop takes 3 minutes? Would I save 1 or 2 stops per 2000km driving 30km/h slower?

Even on the German Autobahn you will not be able to drive 300 km/h constantly. I also doubt, the 335i will be that fast.

At 270 / 300 kph the last thing I would be worried about is gas station stops. Just my opinion, but I think you would be nuts to cruise for any distance at such speeds. 250 is fast enough for me in a E90.
