Mtec v3 Angel Eyes - is there a top and bottom?

Hey guys, as I couldn't find anything on this for the install I figured I would just ask. Is there a top or bottom to the angel eyes? Can I put them in upside down?

From what I remember, it goes in with the led's facing horizontally, like "OO"

Just install the bulbs like the factory ones were, and connect the two wires. Test it, and if it dousn't work just flip the connections. It shouldn't be too hard.

I understand that. I am referring to something a little different, does the Mtec working stay at the top where its readable, or should it be below where its upside down? Or does it not matter? I have one installed, but the outer ring seems a little less bright than the inner. See photo:

From what I've seen, the inner is always a little brighter than the outer, and that's OEM too. I think that's just a characteristic of the light pipe design for these lamps.

Pretty sure the bulbs only go in the holder in one direction (Mtec up). If you install them upside down I believe LED's won't line up with the light channels for the AE's. But you can always test and see.

I had the same issue as you describe when I first installed my Mtec's on my passenger side light. When i would tighten down the screws all the way the outter ring would become less bright. I think one of the sides (where the screws holes are) may have been slightly bent. So when tightening the screws all the way it would slightly twist the bulb so that the LED on the outter ring wasn't as close to the light channel as the inner. I had my friend stand in front of the car as I tightened the screws and as soon as he noticed the light brightness change I backed the screw off a small turn. I have been running that way for well over a year now and I haven't noticed any difference in the rings. I did not have this issue with my driver's side light.

Before I purchased my bulbs I searched a bunch of posts and there were some posts about one light not being as bright as the other not one ring being brighter than the other.

FYI they can only go in one way. One side will be upside down. Got them working evenly now. Look great!!!

just put it in so the letters are not upside down.. seems logical.

now that i think about it, i put one of my mtec v2's in upside down and haven't had any problems or difference in brightness

What side should be upside down? Driver's side or passenger?

I cannot fully say that it all depends on which one you pull out of the box first, but the angel eyes heat sink is not perfectly round, it has a larger side. It ended up: driver side had mtec wording up, passenger side had mtec wording down.
