1M First Birthday - A time for celebration ?
It just occured to me that the 1M will soon be celebrating its first birthday.
With all of the praise that has been heaped on the 1M in the last year, does anybody think that BMW will do anything special for the 1M community and owners to mark this occasion ? I know that BMW watch the forums and perhaps we can use this post to show them our appreciation. Feel free to give a few suggestions or thoughts on how you feel the occasion can be celebrated. Bottom line for me is its a great car and its first birthday should not pass without recognition. |

Since the production started in March the anniversary already passed but maybe you mean the deliveries which started in early May 2011.
I think the last one out from the factory in June/July should be a 1M CSL or whatever they could call it, inline also with the M3 GTS, just 1 copy for a lucky collectioner or to M division to further develop their ideas on a small M car. Now they already know how good it turned out to be even with all the restrictions, imagine without: - A one off color - Outside kind of like the Moto GP safety car with CF this CF that, everything possible to make it look like different - Different wheels - Bigger brakes - R compund tyres - Engine tuned further to match the afftermarket tuners - Special seats, and details inside etc. etc. Of course it won't happen but could be one hell of a way to celebrate and say goodbye. |

I took delivery on May 9th. My salesman emailed me today thanking me. To celebrate I am going to send BMW Finance my loan payment, on time.
I also signed up to do a DE with Chin MotorSports at Road Atlanta next month. It should be interesting to take the car back to Road Atl with the Motons and track tires (Hankook RS-3's) on the 18's. I suspect it will feel much more planted then it did 11 months ago.

Let me know how you like them. I have a set coming to put on my 18" SSRs from my e46 M3. My track tire experience since 1992 has been early 90s BFG R1, Pirelli Corsa , loads of Kumhos (Victor racers & v700s) and a Dunlop track tire that I hated . Holly |

Earlier this week I got (as most Europeans over here, I guess) an invitation from BMW M for a VIP-program at two upcoming events. The personalized invitation was presented with the VO 1M promo picture as header.

The 1M meet at the Ace Cafe in London on 23rd June will be the biggest 1M meet in the world.

My 1M is 1 today!!
Nearly 20,000 miles, have enjoyed every single one of them! There must be quite a few UK cars, as the official launch date was the 14th of May 2011.

Happy belated birthday nice to see that the car is being used 20k on it in a year for that. I have spent more than 6 months out of the country this last year and i have still managed 9k in mine.
