1/8 mile

I ran my car at an 1/8 mile track tonight. Best I did was an 8.8 at 83mph. In fact I ran the same time about 7 times in a row. The track is notorious for not hooking up well, so I'm not to dissapointed. Has anyone else ran there zed's?

Sounds like the same problem (and times) I had. Thread is in DIY under M models launch mode.

Most dragsters do a burn out to get their tires up to temp...did you try that?

Look at the bright side...you'll get to change out the contis sooner

Burnouts for a street radial tire do not help except to clear off any dirt/debris. The soft rubber compound used for drag slicks get stickier when warmed and also come up to the proper pressure for launch.

Hence the laugh. Unless he has some racing slicks. That would be friggin awesome. I can only imagine trying to hook the wheels in 2nd...I'm still waiting for the right time to try it.

Hey guys I went back to the track tonight, I got an 8.637 at 82mph. I really want to get a supercharger . I met some guy in an e36 M3 with a dinan supercharger. The best he ran was an 8.8, a little surprising for 300whp car.
