Crazy thought!

I have a crazy thought... Selling my 1M! The reason? Very strange but I will not be able to keep my driving license if owning this car. Its just a fact. Its just too easy to drive fast and the car begs for it. Mature? Yes but even mature people become children in this car. *laugh*

I know this is a crazy thought. ;-)

At this stage its just a thought that do bother me. Is it just me?

Love the car and its wonderful to drive. Have a bit to far to the closest track.

Go away annoying thought!

...such a crazy thought .... why wouldn't you want to feel like a kid every time you get in your car? Yes, we all are having those "oh Sh*t" moments where we realize the mile markers are going by a little too quick but I ask ... "what is the price of feeling alive"? On ward Silver away!!!!

Just do a number of trackdays throughout summer and let the speed demon out in a safe legal environment and keep your license safe and sound

Did my first autoX last month which was a blast! Most fun I've ever had in a car.

My first HPDE is in a few weeks and I couldn't be more excited to take the ///M out! And I'm driving about 2-3 hours to go to this event!

Actually, consider the fact that you realize and talk about the temptation to do stuff with your 1M that's unhealthy for your physical integrity and your driving license, as "Step 1" in the "1M'ers Anonymous" process to keeping your 1M.

As others have said, get on a track or auto-x. If I don't vent my adrenaline this way I find myself driving too fast on the street. You've admitted you have a problem and admitting this is the first step to recovery. Now you must take action and all will be balanced and good in your world.

100% true. you'll find that people that track/auto-x are extremely competitive, but have plenty of control when it comes to driving their cars on the street. you also become so much more "car aware", meaning...if you weren't mechanically inclined before, you'll be at some point.

i honestly think that people are finding more reasons to sell the car, rather than keep it and that the sudden surge of interest (and markups) have more to do with selling than anything else. i also feel that these reasons (what i just mentioned...not your "lead foot reason") are lame. why but the car, just to sell it.

Thanks for the support guys… ;-) We should start a club for us with this problem. ;-)

I would not sell the car for markup as over here in Sweden there is no markup. If Selling its at a loss. I Think there are like 4 cars for sale and two are under 500K SEK. Meaning they sell at a loss. So earning Money has nothing to do with the thoughts. Just the addiction… *laugh*

There are actually two addictions with this car:
1. Drive to fast is way to easy
2. Tuning the car is an addiction (any more of those on the forum maybe...) ;-)

It's easier to drive a fast car slowly than it is to drive a slow car fast.....

Also cruise control (except for humid road conditions) + speed limit gong (just to let me know I just entered "real speeding fine territory", which mostly starts approx. 15 km/h above the speed limit). Example: highway = 120 km/h speed limit in Belgium, but normally no police trouble if you stay under ± 135 km/h, so cruise control at ± 126 km/h (real speed is then close to 120 km/h) and speed limit gong at ± 135 km/h (real speed is then close to 130 km/h) to warn me during accelaration/overtaking maneuvers.

And cruise control at

Yes I use cruise control and speed gong also. Still the car whispers.. Accelerate... ;-)

If I keep the car I will upgrade a lot of stuff. Exhaust, carbon roof, etc etc. That is also a pain. Sooner or later I will be in Yellow 1M or Einser land... ;-)

If i don't hit 200 kph on a weekly basis my 1M cries tears made of pure motor oil. As a physician I prescribe you a heavy dose of 1000 mg Anti-1M-selling-thoughts-due-to-motor-madness-on-the-road and a life long course of M-power-fortifying-vitamins.

Willpower is cool, John.

But doesn't absence make the heart grow fonder, i.e. the desire to go for an exciting, c.q. wild, drive each time you get behind the 1M wheel again ?
