carbon blasting...
I strongly recommend you guys to take it to the dealer ship, they have all the special tools needed. To do it the intake manifold need to be removed and they warranty that for 2 years... i gess.

PM me or XPO18 for details for bay area cleaning. XPO186 posted a Vallejo base auto shop who is willing to provide special deal (group buy) for E90post members to have engine's valves to be cleaned.
The shop owner used to be a BMW tech who then decided to open his own shop. From my understanding, he had just purchased the walnut cleaning equipment and tools which is preferred method by BMW. This thread took place about a week and half ago. But someone of Big Brother Moderators had removed his thread because of "unwanted advertising" -sounds bogus to me. Anyone else recall seeing this thread? Fortunately for me I contacted XPO186 (Phil) before the thread was removed, and he gave me this shop's contact details. I'm set up for this Monday (5/21) for my valve cleaning, and I'm planning on writing a review along with progress pics of the valves. Is it ABS (Alternative BMW Service) in San Mateo? If so, I talk to him too. John (owner) does have a very good and long standing reputation. At the time of my conversation with John, he has a tech that performs the cleaning by hand though. He charges just a little less job charge rate than local bay area dealerships.
