Canadian VO 1M for sale. $38k!

Found this on the AutoTrader. Looks like a good deal.

I think that it is still a good buy.

Guess I missed that part. Highest mileage 1M to date? Press car possibly?

Still seems like a steal with that mileage.

I sent an inquiry. I have a feeling it's a scam but we'll see. There's another VO 1M for sale at a dealer in Canada.

I don't think that it's a press car, because it has some uncommon special features (rear spoiler + wrapped/taped side-crease/vents), except if these were fit on what previously used to be a press car.

Buyer beware !

Below is a picture of Satalite's 1M (Georgia): VO 1M, wrapped side crease/vents, garage set-up and yellow Tech Tech flag:

And here's a picture of the "cheap" 1M put up for sale in Canada: same VO 1M, same wrapped side crease/vents, same garage and same yellow Tech Tech flag:
http://www.autotrader.ca/a/BMW/M/THU...o/19_5407065_/

Connecting the dots: noticing the side crease/vents wrap triggered my memory. Wrong choice of pictures of the "Canadian" seller.

Except if forum member Satalite put up for sale his VO 1M in Canada (only he could shed some light hereupon), or if the "Canadian" seller used Satalite's pictures in good faith, I probably rained on someone's parade. Someone's gonna hate me (and my sig)...

Those are indeed my photos that he "re-used". My car had around 700 miles on the clock when I sold it to a North Carolina buyer (who was not Canadian). And you can tell from the Tech flag and the "custom vinyl job" on the side of the car that it is my car. I have a thread floating around in the 1M section as well.. NO OTHER 1M HAS HAD THAT VINYL DONE IN THE MATTE BLACK FINISH.

Please be aware at the price it could be a scam and you SHOULD request ACTUAL pictures that are OF HIS CAR AND NOT MINE! **Buyer Beware**.

Good detective work guys. This sort of thing seems to be more and more common these days. I found an S4 Avant advertised on line for a great price but a quick Google search of the VIN turned up circumstances that didn't align with the sellers story. Best to steer clear.

So here's the reply I got...

Quote:
Hi Jackson,

The car is still for sale, has a clean title, no accidents all manuals and original paperwork. Well maintained, always garage kept, non smoker, runs and sounds 100% perfect (I'm not exaggerating). Sold certified and e-tested. I am the original owner.

I am selling it because I've moved to Spain (I own 3 vintage stores here in Madrid) and importing it here will cost me too much. It's currently in St John's , NL, at my parents house , with all the papers necessary to sell, ready to be delivered to its new owner. I will ship it anywhere in Canada with www.automoves.ca ( safe and reliable company). I will pay for the shipping costs. I want to use ebay motors for the payment and as third party to close the deal because it is the safest way for both parties under these conditions.

I can provide proof of ownership (carproof report, driver's license, UVIP) ahead of time if you agree with ebay.

If you have more questions or if you want more details about buying with ebay, just mail me back . I don't know which is the best time to call you, due to the time difference...

Cheers!

Slightly off topic, but maybe somebody else could be interested as well so I am posting here: the vinyl job you had with the 1M, I have very similar ones that I purchased from a tuning company in Germany via some friend who lives there and couldn't wrap it till now, they are in my trunk. When I first tried I ruined one piece (thank God they have sent me two sets) so I am cautious to try install them again.

Think of me as a person who better changes a bulb alone like the max. I can handle so what is the trick about this stuff, especially with regard to how they can be installed properly under the side markers.

And the guy who sold me said something like I should spray some dish washer liquid to the area before wrapping. Can this really be necessary/useful?

Any tips will be appreciated. Sorry going off topic guys.
