132 Silvermine Rd Bldg 2 Ste 1 Seymour, CT 06483 Great place, low prices, and the owner Bryce is amazing. They're open nights on weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday. |

Add a bit more of what your looking to get done and the CT community can help direct you a bit better.

If you can, make the trip out to see Sal, Matt and the crew at ACM; the drive is well worth getting things done right. They know their stuff when it comes to our platform and the guys stand by their work, unlike a number of other local shops in the area. Can't tell you how many problems Matt has diagnosed for me via text message at 2am. As Michael (Mehale) said, if you explain exactly what you're looking to have done, we may be able to send you in a more specific direction. ACM can do it all though If you're trying to stay local, make sure you do comprehensive research (not just browsing threads that shops have 'motivated' customers to write good reviews) on local shops before making a decision. Nothing worse than doing business with a shop who won't help after they've already gotten your $$. My advice would be to try: Quote:
Bryce @ ACI Dynamix in Seymour (as Josh mentioned above) or Chris @ AfterFX Performance in Stamford.

Depends on where you are in CT. A member here has done my installs, he's good, professional and reasonable.
Juiced46 Highly recommend him. There is also EFI, those guys are also great, but almost one hour and a half drive from where I live. Plus they can dyno/tune you.

The reason I was looking for those who do side jobs is because in the past I have had good experience with people who take a geinuine interest with working on cars. They have treated my vehicle like it was theirs, and obviously more reasonably priced that most mechanics.
Its just my personal opinion thats all and was lookin for an all around mechanic. I actually asked because my actuator went, and even though its a straight forward job, I really figured Id rather pay someone to do it reasonably.

The OP said side jobs. As in NOT a mechanics shop where he's going to be charged a premium.
PM me. I know a few very experienced mechanics that will be able to take care of you. |

if he's worried about a mechanic taking care of his car "like it was his own" don't you think he'd be concerned with liability were something to go wrong? IMHO I'd rather have the owner of a shop working on my car for a little cash on the side rather than a self proclaimed "mechanic" in his driveway...GL whatever route you go OP

thats ideal. For those that enjoy working on cars (which i do not have patience for) its an easy way to make some personal cash, untaxed etc. It is a very innocent question. Thanks for the replies I will PM those that answered. Thx

lol your a good story teller. in my 15 years working in autorepair/body shops ive never heard of or seen one owner do a side job ever. not only does that make you a poor businessman for mulitple reasons to explain your hularious points above. insurance on the shop is paid by month but not by job so there is no free use of shop insurance or anything. every second that passes your shop is costing you money. whether it be the insurance premiums the electricity or rent. there is no free anything. there is no benefit by doing side jobs as an owner. with the overheads of operating a business are the reason why labor rates are as high as they are. show me one business owner that does side jobs. i mean how many shop owners actually do the work anyways. running a business successfully is a full time job.
