I assume no one posted this yet. I dedicate this one for every dude who doubted 1M as a true M car

The best part of bimmerfest for me is going to be alone time driving the 1M from NorCal to SoCal. Love every second in this car. Sounds like journalists like it too.

And they might just be correct. Too bad the chassis has grown so much over the years.

If I was the one who wrote the article and still stick with just 8 cars from M history I would put 1998-2002 Z3 M Coupe in and would be forced to take out V10 M5 Touring. But that's about it.
Or if I would make it a 10 M cars list I would happily add the E36 and E9X M3s as well. |

I have owned both the S54 and S65 engines. Drove them on a daily basis for years and the M3 guys have nothing to be defensive about.

Matt Russell said the E36 M3 started the dual personality path by widening its customer base : a sports car yet offering modern technology comfort . i regret the M3 headed toward the comfort side more than toward the sport side . too bad BMW doesn't release a CSL M3 for the last hurrah of the E9X |

They, righteously, included the E46 M3 CSL. Quite a motoring ani-///M-al.

Motor Trend recently did a similar article with their top 8 M cars. A certain vehicle we on this board are fond of was not mentioned.
