1M brake fluid flush
Ive tried searching but can anyone point me in the direction of a proper brake fluid flush for my 1M? Its been a LONG while since the last time I ever did one. I have the BavAuto pressure brake bleeder adn catch bottle to make things easier. I recall there is a proper order for which brake line to bleed first, was it back right?
Thanks! |

is that BR, FR, RL, FL??
and once i have the wheel off just hook up the gear and pump until the new fluid starts flowing into the catch can? Actually just checked Bav and they recommend "; right-rear, left-rear, right-front and then left-front." |

Either way should be fine. With the pressure bleeder I use you have to build up the psi to around 15 and then open the bleeder. Keep the psi above 10 through the process but never go over 20 I believe. Mine has guidelines printed on the side but I'm not home to be certain.

yeah thats what i did... I tried pressurizing first to barely 10psi and for some reason i had trouble getting the cap to properly seat on the reservoir resulting in spilling a bunch of expensive fluid :/
I ended up slightly cracking open the bleeder valve then pressurizing and it worked great. I did take my sweet a!! time though Fortunately the Motul is much clearer than the gold yellow bmw fluid so it was fairly easy to spot when the line was flushed. Also took advantage of the wheels being off to clean them real well! |

when you bleed the brake, do you have to bleed the clutch too?
I remembered they shared with the brake fluid?

I recall the BavAuto guide saying that but to be completely honest I didnt. Good or bad? idk :/
At the least I would consider getting the fluid out with a turkey baster and replacing with the new stuff. I have never done a clutch bleed before |
