1M Radio repeats information?

I have never experienced this in any other car but the radio in my 1M when changing stations seems to skip or repeat information. It's no big deal but is this normal? Example: Listening to one station/song and change the station and new song starts to play but then like 3 seconds in to the new station the song backs up and repeats the same words you just heard. Weird.

sounds like your radio is buffering the stations!

I have not experienced it.

I'm 99% sure that it has to do with the radio switching automatically between HD reception and standard analog reception depending on which is the stronger signal. Mine does this with some annoying regularity. The engine and exhaust sounds better, anyway!

Correct, it is switching and you're picking up the buffered content.

Hmmm, never experienced that, but i'll make a note to self. Between BMW App's Web Radio and Sirius I barely listen to regular radio waves...

It looks like the radio strives to keep an HD signal and will switch as soon as it can find one. I often see and sometimes hear mine switch from HD to ST(ereo) but I have never experienced a buffering issue. I can hear the audio shift slightly and the soundstage in the car changes..

For me its a minor shift, and only noticeable when actively listening, however that it can occur with annoying regularity, as one gets further away from a station. I would still rather have HD because of the title/track information available when you hit Info.

I most often have my phone connected for music though anyway.

The delay/repeat seems to be an issue with the radio station not syncing it's analog and HD signals, rather than a problem with the BMW radio. I'll notice it one day, and then the syncing issue is gone the next day, and you only hear the improved signal of HD when the switch happens. You can turn HD radio reception off for the BMW radio, and the problem goes away. I wish you could turn analog radio reception off, and just have HD or nothing.
