335i golf tee mod - loose low end power / torque or not
Hi
I want to do this mod and searched, but I did not find an answer to the question: Do I loose low end power / torque by doing this mod on the 335i ? I don't believe so, no aftermarket exhaust has a flap and backpressure is not good at all in turbocharged applications. I would appreciate if somebody really knows ? Thank you for feedback. Eugen. |

lol it was some girl who said it or something and that was it, and it was probably a butt dyno, and yet people keep bringing it up
who really cares though it opens sooner than you should really care if you have full power or not |

There is no low-end torque loss with the goft tee mod. That flap is mainly there for noise reasons.

Eugen... you pretty much answered it yourself in your first post. I feel the same way, since back pressure is never a good thing on a turbo car, having that flap closed wouldn't provide any type of benefit with having more of it. I think its there only to keep the exhaust quieter, I can't see it losing any torque by having it open.

haha thanks Judec! I was wondering, and now I understand completely. Almost all BMWs have the vacuum exhaust flap, mostly for noise reasons.
