19" / 20" Wheels For F30 328i
Hello People,
I had a quick question and couldn't get an answer to help me out. I just ordered my F30 and now looking at getting new wheels. I would prefer the 20" but 19" would be ok. What are the best sizes that would fit my car? I know a lot of people have tried different things and some didn't want any rubbing, neither do I. I plan on lowering my car in H&R Sport but not immediately. I found several sets of nice wheels (rims) online and was about to order them but wasn't sure if it'll fit perfectly. Please let me know what I should look out for specifically when ordering rims online and that they will fit my car once it arrives at my place here in Canada...Thanks a million!

I usually use tirerack.com to get an idea of fitment.

The problem is I get confused when I hear the word OFFSET and Rubbing and all this just confuses me.
Some of the wheels are like $4000 so I dont want to waste my money. I've been to tirerack.com so maybe I should simply note down the tires size on the F30 and get wheels based on this? I also want to know what others have already bought or mounted?

Yeh I used the BBS wheels on there as my guide. So I gather rim size and offset and tyre size as well.

Offset determines how far pushed in or out the wheel sits. The lower the offset number, the farther out the wheel will be pushed; the higher the offset number, the further in the wheel will tuck.
The following sizing seems to work well on the F30 platform. I have not heard of anyone running into rubbing issues when going with these sizes: 19x8.5 ET35 Front 19x8.5 ET35 Rear *or* 19x8.5 ET35 Front 19x9.5 ET45 Rear Tirerack is an excellent resource, as are most forum wheel vendors. You can always give them a call and their representatives are happy to go through any questions you may have. Good luck! |

It's the distance between the center of the wheel and the mounting hub....thus pushing it out or in.
