First public driving display of the 1M in Jamaica

BMW 1M shown to 6,000 spectators at Dover Raceway in Jamaica.

"1 Gymkana Specialist" - Hm, a bit of an underimpressive performance then.

I predict this will be an Olympic sport by 2016.

In several countries (including Germany) the 1M silver trim ("Chrome Line") is a standard feature. The gloss black trim ("Hochglanz Shadow Line") is optional (option 760). It cannot be retrofitted. According to my purchase order it was €103.31 + 21% VAT = €125.00 in 2011. According to the German specs list it was €100.84 + taxes = €120.00 in 2011. The vast majority on this forum prefers the Shadow Line over the Chrome Line. But of course, that's just a matter of personal taste.

I for example would leave the kidney grills, side markers, back M logo and silver window trim all untouched (plus stock wheels, exhaust tips) as they are if I would buy the 1M in BSM. The only color imo this would make good sense and also save some cash!

Not my car, my friend. My boss' car...

Also, on practice day after some 3rd gear drifts the officials requested that it be toned down plenty for safety. We only had a 7 minute window for the demo, as this was during an official raceday for the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship.

Anyway, was mega-fun and is forcing me to think hard about buying a black one for the dealer (my boss' business - I manage the Mitsubishi division)...

Just thought I'd share this detail with you...
