I can't believe we got these 2 guys. Un-freakin believable!!!

Just need to lock in henrik for a long term deal and get some extra D and we'll be set.

I was waiting to see what they did before re-uping my season tickets.. looks like now I can hand them back and keep my $3500.

Yes, maybe you have good forwards. But I guess Mr Sather forgot he needs some defenceman to play as well? This some how reminds me of those teams with large payrolls but disappointing results (AKA Knicks & Yankees).

Its the NY syndrome, throw gobs of money at players with no regard for chemistry, just so long as there are big names in the line-up. They have thrown a lot of money at a lot of big names (Lindros, Bure, etc) They really need to look to their farm team and young guys to be consistent.

I completely agree we need to up the defense. Pure offense might get you into the playoffs but doesn't mean you're going to get the cup (sabres).

And yes, it is the ny syndrome. Big money for big players. But Gomez is only 27 and drury is 30. So not like we're throwing tons of $ at a bunch of veterens who are going to retire in the next year or so and who have already passed their prime.

I think gomez will be a perfect set-up man for jagr.

Being from Upstate NY, and a Sabres fan... you can thank the Senators for breaking up that team. Good luck on your new acquisitions --- hope it helps you get past Buffalo next year.

You now have 3 forwards making more than 7 mil a season. You have no defense and a goaltender who doesnt play big in big games. Sorry guys even if you come out of the east (right now its looking like Ottawa again) The Ducks will destroy you (even if both scotty and Teemu retire). Enjoy your free agency high because you grabbed great players but you didnt need any forwards.

I can throw a stone and hit the Honda Center. I was bummed there was no Anaheim/Buffalo final... woulda been a better series, IMO.

You have to be consistent though, nobody wants to see another 97-05 "DNQ" (did not qualify) next to the rangers play-off stats. It sucks that they had a great netminder in Blackburn and he had to retire due to the nerve damage in his shoulder, but he was a fantastic rookie. Dan Cloutier had 3 30+ win seasons with Vancouver, another Rangers draft pick. They have a great roster in their farm team (Montoya, Jessiman, etc) in Hartford, they are winning forty and fifty games. I would just like to see those guys make more of a showing.
