leatherette turns blue

lol yesterday it was really hot and well my back was pretty sweaty i had the ac on but my back was still really sweaty, then when i got out of the car, i noticed that the back support turned blue lol later i checked it again, it was black again. anyone know why this is? will it have negative effects on the rette if i sweat while sitting in it? will it turn forever blue one day?

It's made out of that material that changes color with body heat.

this has been posted and discussed before. While I dont remember exactly why it happens, it's perfectly normal. It's not going to keep your leathrette blue (or whatever color) forever.

i noticeded this a while back. once the sweat dries up it'll be all good! usually in 20 minuts or less depending on amount of heat and sweat

Its the color of the pants/jeans that you are wearing. My leather (creme beige) used to have the same problem - I just used Klasse leather cleaner to take that stuff off.

It could just be the fact that the sweat/liquids transmits (is refract the right word? physics people please help) light in a certain way and thus creates a blueish color to it? Then again, maybe you just have blue sweat which makes you an alien. heheh just kidding!

heheeeheh but on a serious note, I think its either our sweat reacting to the leatherette or its just how the sweat reacts with the light and color of the leatherette. Kind of like how if you put a glass full of red wine and shine light through it, it'll turn violet..something like this..

The same reason using Armorall on your tires and and going through water makes them brown?

Leather cleaner is for leather. To clean your leatherette, you will need to use Mother's Leatherette Cleaner. It's the same formula they put into their leather cleaner but they sell it at a discount for the cheap bastards who didn't want to spend the $$$ for the real leather.

J/K....before you get your panties in a bunch.
