2007 vs "2007.5" differences?

Well, (edit: as of the date thread was posted), I might be one of the few, maybe only, person on this board who has owned 2 335i's, one sedan, and now the coupe. As well as owning a pre-March 2007 built car and now the post March 2007 or "2007.5" model year car as I like to call it since BMW made changes to the car mid model year.

I don't know if some of these points are sedan vs. coupe differences or if they are the changes BMW made to all 335i's beginning March 2007.
But here's what I've found so far.
If you know of others, please list them. If/when I find new things, I'll add them to the post.
Changes made to 2007.5 (March 2007 on) build 335i's

1. upgraded fuel pump began to be phased in
2. new, brighter, whiter "Angel Eye" lights (difference for coupe)
3. newer, thicker shift knob on the steptronic auto
4. oil cooler on automatic cars with sports package (and some without S.P.)
5. 340 degree oil temp gauge
6. smaller radio volume and tuning knobs with chrome accent
7. Ipod/USB adapter now available and installed in center armrest at the factory
8. Welded rear differential but in it's place the....
9. Electronic Limited Slip Differential
10. New "shortcut" buttons for IDrive equipped cars.

I think BMW made other changes as well, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Again feel free to add to the list and if I think of more I'll add them.
Take care.

the biggest change that pissed me off is the welded ring and pinion. I went to install my LSD and found out the hard way.

Chrome accent on the radio knobs and smaller clown nose -- I thought both of those were right off the bat on the 07 models.

I didn't know about the changes to the headlight corona rings, AT shift knob, or upgraded fuel pump (though Spool should know if it is still the same, I think he's had two fuel pumps die now, one pre- and one post-March).

About the iPod in the center console: according to my dealer, this feature will not be installed until it arrives at the dealership. Perhaps this is different for the coupe? Anyone shed some light on this?

The new USB/IPOD adapter is an option from the factory.

Thats because you have the coupe, they have the brighter DRL
3. newer, thicker shift knob on the steptronic auto
This has been on the coupe since introduction, Sedans as of March or so

If I were you, I would call your dealer right now. My understanding is that the factory installed ipod option has a lot more functionality than the dealer installed option. Disclaimer: I have neither...

I was under the undestanding that it's a new part number. Apparently same fuel pump but with new/upgraded parts in it that are less apt to fail.
Again, I can't confirm this, nor do I know for sure if the new fuel pumps have a new part number, but I do remember hearing that and reading a post by someone who posted the new part number.

Ipod/usb adapter is installed at factory, not dealership and it intergrates the steering wheel controls to your Ipod and displays the song, artist and such on the stereo screen.

Sounds like differences between sedan and coupe...

Doubt the fuel pump...

Angel eyes on coupe are brighter than sedan, no change

Step was always thicker...

Always smaller buttons...

What do you mean "step was always thicker"
If you are referring to the gear shift knob, that is not true.
My gear shift knob on my 07 335i sedan was different than this gear shift knob. As I understand it, this new gear shift knob is now used on "2007.5" build sedans too. I haven't verified that though.

Same goes with the smaller buttons.
My Nov 2006 build 335i sedans radio buttons were larger and did not have the chrome accents on them like my "2007.5" Coupe does.

The gearshift knob DID change. The one that originally just came on the coupe is now on all cars.

The 6FL option to me is the greatest thing mentioned although I'm going with a 328i so most of it is irrelevant.

so, if you DO have the 340 oil temp and other factors, you should also have the upgraded fuel pump?
