The only modification is to replace the whole seat with a more supportive unit.
Or did you mean you want it to be more encouraging and give you positive reinforcement when you are feeling down and not really feeling good about yourself?? |

Can you get more ghetto? You're going a slice a hole on the side and then put rocks in it? Your best bet would be to look for used sport seats on forums or a yard.

OP to try and provide you a constructive comment you can go to most quality uphlostery shops and have them build up the seat for you with different foam and actually make the seat much more comfortable. I have standard seat because I HATE the sport seats and they kill my hips in my M3's. However that said the new M3 has a sport seat that is comfortable for me and I look forward to my new M3.
You can look at this forum, bimmerforums, bimmerfest and Craigslist and find someone selling the sport seats and swap them out if they suit you. The wiring is the same in most cases meaning plug and play so it is just a matter of 2 bolts and two nuts to remove as well as the electrical connectors to disconnect... |

What sort of support are you looking for? Lumbar or lateral?
If you don't have premium package, there is no lumbar support. You can retrofit the lumbar support if you don't have that. If you're looking for lateral support, then it's better to just upgrade to sport seats. |

if you don't have sport seats, you should just trade your car in

I'd keep an eye on classifieds and see if you could swap with someone who wants a stock seat (heavier people find stock seat more comfy as it doesn't pinch their backs).
A shop that reupholsters interiors might actually help you with padding your seat better. Go there and find out directly. I know a shop near me reshapes seats to drivers preferences so idea of retrofitting lumbar support is totally legit but your stock seat covers won't work, meaning you need a retrim of seats anyway. As a result, you're not gonna be looking at a simple cover-off add padding- cover-on solution, but something more complicated.
