You drive a late model BMW 3-series convertible. I should think you would be looking for ways to look like less of a tool bag. Vanity plates will only make you look more like a jackass. But if that's the look you're going for...

Not sure if it's true in TX, but I've heard that some states won't allow "FTW" on vanity plates. I know the web site says it's available, but a bit of experimentation shows that the site isn't smart enough to know how to censor as the humans in the DMV will. So don't be surpised if your application for that plate is turned down.

Does FTW have some taboo alternate meaning besides "for the win" that I wasn't aware of that would cause this sort of knee-jerk censorship at the DMV? Seems a relatively harmless acronym to me...

I was just going on dealing with my own state and knowing several people that have had plates declined. If the states deem the plate profane in meaning, even after the fact, they will take your plate. I was just throwing it out there that it could be deemed profane. No reason to hate on me for providing a warning because the last time I looked, F*CK, is considered profane. Whether you want it to mean For The Win or not, the state can still deem the alternante meaning enough to recall the plate or deny.

"E93 - FTW" is just OK IMHO.

I typically get plates that are for me (as a person) so I can transfer them from one car to another and they will still make sense. Since I already have two variations of my nickname on two other cars I decided to get car specific plates this time. I wasn't planning on running a vanity plate on the BMW but once I got the ugly regular plates I knew I needed a white/black palte for this car. Mine is in my avatar...it's funny how many very intelligent people can't figure it out... I think it's easy.
