New member, longtime lurker

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say hi to everyone here. I bought my 335xi on February 3 of this year and have been reading these forums constantly since. I figured it was time to finally stop lurking and make an account.

Bought my car totally on impulse. I've wanted a BMW since I was 20 years old. Not because of the status or the nameplate but because of everything I've ever heard about the way that they drive.

I had been looking at pre-owned 335s for a while before I finally went down to the dealer for a test drive. Only stipulations were that it had to be a manual, have the sport package, AWD, and be a color other than black or white.

The moment I test drove it, I knew I was gonna buy it. What struck me was just how quickly I felt comfortable driving it and how refined it was compared to my then-current car, a 2008 Impreza WRX. By the time we'd gotten back to the dealer, my mind was made up. They gave me $20k on my WRX as a trade in and I came back 3 days later with a bank draft for the balance.

Anyway, on to the car. 2008 Crimson Red 335xi CPO, 6 speed with the sport package and aluminum trim. Only had 39,500 kms on it and the factory warranty is up on June 11, 2012. I still have 2 more years of CPO warranty with it.

I LOVE this car. Love, love, love the color too! It's so rare, especially on a sedan. The only option it has is Park Distance Control. But I don't care, it's everything I wanted. Since it's leatherette, the interior looks brand new and Canadian 335s come better equipped anyway (Cold weather package is standard, 18" wheels and oil cooler standard with the sport package).

Only mods so far are the eBay clutch stop (which made a HUGE difference in clutch smoothness) and a set of TSW Nurburgrings (18 X 8 F, 18 X 9.5 rear).

I love my ride and plan on keeping it and being a member of this forum for years to come.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm kinda thinking I like the chrome plus everybody seems always black it out so I dunno. I'm thinking a JB4 next--maybe.

Just the stock 225/255 staggered set. I have a set 225/40/18 winters on the stock rims. Can't wait until these runflats are toast and I can buy some new tires.

Yeah, I know. It looks way taller on the TSWs than it did on the stock wheels for some reason.
