Saw an F30 in person today.
I honestly really like the look of the car in person. Very sleek, much nicer than the pictures I've seen before.
But I asked myself, does it looks sleeker, newer, and/or more modern than my e92 LCI? Not at all (imo). Not one of those instances where I am upset for not waiting for the next model/refresh like I was when I got my 09 G37S and then in 2010, the car was refreshed (sedan). To me, the F30 and E90 are more like brothers than a generation skip. Even the current E90 sedan LCI doesn't look any less sleek/new than the new F30. The two sedans could be sold side by side as different models and I don't feel as if the e90 would seem older than the F30. Idk, just some initial thoughts that I'm typing up on my Blackberry as I'm walking after seeing the F30. Thoughts?

I think it can be a decent looking sedan, but mother of god it's HUGE compared to the e90.
Kinda takes away from the sports/performance sedan thing for me, more like a baby 5er.

You are comparing an f30 (sedan) to an e92. Not quite apples to apples comparison there. Wait till the coupe comes out and then you can compare. My guess is that it will be a better match in sportiness.
But I agree it is way more aggressive and better looking than the e90.

I have no idea about the F32... but there won't be a 335is (at least for a while, I'm assuming), so I'm happy with the limited edition anyways.

After seeing some with mods on F30POST it is gorgeous. And compared to the e90 pre-lci it blows it away in my opinion. Saw a melbourne one the other day and it was quite stunning.
I still think the e90lci is gorgeous too |

The two cars both look modern because they look exactly the freaking same from the A-pillar back. From many angles the two generations are indistinguishable. The difference comes in forward of the firewall which is without question the, erm, most "challenging" aspect of the F30. That said, I think it is more than a little superficial to focus only on the exterior styling in discussing which car feels more modern. Once you sit inside an F30 you can appreciate that it is a much newer design than the E90. The tech on offer is also light years ahead of the old car: 8-speed auto, electric power steering, auto start/stop, direct injection with turbocharging. More power, torque and performance from less displacement while using drastically less fuel. That's real progress.

I had the opportunity to check out the new Helix shop car- a white F30 that Eric has already dropped and put some sick 19" black VMR V718s on. It is looking pretty damn good already, a huge upgrade from stock! I have to say the interior is actually a nice upgrade from the E9x, even with the pop-tart. I'm looking forward to seeing the transformation once the mad scientists at Helix Enterprises give it the treatment.

i was never really a huge fan of the e90 and i was so psyched for the f30 to come out.
but now that it's out, i love the e90 (LCI). I don't hate the f30, but i would definitely rather have an e90 but i do think they could be sold as separate models. e90 still looks fresh and new. f30 looks like a different car

I was never crazy about the pre-lci e90, but then I felt like the changes on the lci really made it a solid car. The front of the f30 kills me but I have a feeling the lci f30 will be very nice...

I have 2011 LCI E90
Made in October Last of the e90 And I think F30 might have slight edge in body design Inside it's fatter too Comes with HUD now in color (optional) 8 speed auto tranny And even better fuel Econ As far as looks bigger doesn't mean worse I think the size increase would of sucked if speed had been affected But they say it actually improved .2 sec b/c of 8 speed auto And the interior of the sport line with red trim Is sexy Even their floor mats come with red trim Love the f30
