hi,
i plan to put red led lights inside the vents for the glow effect. can someone tell me where can i power from? I need to come on with the rest of the interior lights at night. Thank you. |

well in my opinion i would just steal power from the cigarette lighter in the ashtray because it is on when the car is on and off when the car is off. and if you don't want to do that, i believe in the DIY section there is a "radar hardwire install" that tells you how to tap into the fuse box, (which is pretty simple to follow).
The second thing you might want to consider is pointing the LED's in the opposite direction of the cabin. what i mean by this is directing the light in the vent towards the windshield. i say this because i know how bright LEDs can be even at low power, (i work for an optical company), as something like 70 lumens would be to bright at night to be reflecting into your eyes at night to see effectively at night. +1, its a little flashy for my taste but its your choice so go for it!! sorry for the long post, hope this helps and good luck.

yes, makes sense, i plan to have the leds inside the vents pointing towards the windshield as you suggested. i don't want to look flashy or ricey just nice but we'll see.
mercedes have illuminated vents that glow red for hot and blue for cold, i think that is "cool". |
