Does the 2012 335is has N54 or N55 Engine?

I thought the 2012 335is has the N54 engine, but official website stating it has TwinPower Turbo. Does TwinPower Turbo equals to N55 engine?

N54. The "is" uses the older twin turbo setup instead of the N55's twin-scroll single turbo. The retroactively labeled the N54 twins as "TwinPower" when the N55 came out.

Sorry but this is false. The 2012 335is does have a N55.

E92 should still get n54

N55 is not twin turbo
It is twin scroll

N55 is only one mid size turbo

N55 should be more reliable
Less tune friendly

The 2011 335is n54 was improved from the older 335i version

I can say for sure that the 2012 335is has the N54 with twin-turbos. I have one.

BMW adds to the confusion in their marketing and spec materials. For 335i and 335is cars they list "TwinPower Turbo". But specifically the N54 is a Twin Turbo and the N55 a single TwinScroll Turbo. Guess they didn't want to get into explaining why they were using different technologies in the same 335 lineup.

2012 335i is e90 and e92 (avail only as N55)

Supposedly it's not the same N54 as the 2011 335i though. They made some adjustments or something to fix problems with prior N54 engines.

I stand corrected. I thought "TwinPower" only applied to Twin Scroll. I guess I should of known better with no mention of Valvetronic in the description.
This is why you shouldn't believe everything you read online when there is people like me giving wrong information under false assumptions lol.

Right. I meant 2010 335i. The 2011+ 335i has N55. 335is (all models to date) has N54.

And I thought they changed a cap or something that was giving the N54 issues for the 335is models.
