Remote Controlled Angel Eyes...

So, I have seen in some e46's that their owners have modified the angel eyes to turn on remotely when they are walking towards their cars....is this possible for the e90's? Maybe wiring them to the puddle lights (under the door handles so that they light up when we unlock/lock?? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ok, so When I got my car (e92) I loved that it did this. well one day, about a week after getting the car it stoped doing it. The only thing I changed was I increased the time for the lights when you lock and unlock the car.

Does anyone know what would cause them to not go on? Sorry for the minor thread jack...

Ok, I figured out. ctgazer this might apply to your question. On the e92 your lights have to be in the auto position for the angels to light up with the comfort lighting.

+1

Put your headlight setting on Auto. And when you disarm the car, the angel eyes will come on.

I have a friend with an x3 and he added a new circuit to power the AEs.
He also added a remote control for them.

As a summer job, we plan on adding a remote to my e90 and
getting the AEs to work like DRLs (corner delete).

If success, I'll post a DIY. wish me luck boys.

Question for you guys: Is having your lights on Auto the only way? During the day I like to just have the angles on and not any of the corner lights. But I want my AE's to light up when I lock and unlock the car...

Such a dilema... LOL

Anyone have any way to chage this.

well your angels should be running as DRL's as you have a coupe. just leave the light switch it in auto then you should be good...or leave it at off, then move to auto when you turn off the car....
