Over MSRP?

Are all dealers charging over MSRP for the launch cars on their lot? The dealer close to my house is charging $5k over MSRP for a monte carlo blue M6 vert. Anyone get their car at MSRP or below?

Thanks.

It's probably because it's the first one; if you place an order it should be at MSRP. My local dealer is doing MSRP on my coupe order.

that's just retarded, maybe you don't have a lot of dealers in your city? and they think they are the shit, I hate stupid dealers like this.

matter of fact, go back in, ask for a manager and tell him "bozo, I'm gonna take this car at a 7% discount, you have a nice day"

I can walk in any of the four dealers here in Vancouver area with a min 7% discount on any M6 or M5. I can actually get a $25000 off on a 650i cab. U need to let them understand that you know their margin and they need to beg you to take the car. trust me, those cars are not that hot at all, they are hardly selling that well...

Yes, it's retarded. I'm in NJ so there's a lot of BMW dealerships. I said no to it since I never ever pay at msrp much less above it.

I got 3 quotes for ordering a coupe and every dealer in LA is doing it MSRP. Dont pay a dime over that.

I asked to get a couple grand below that but they said no because it's a limited production car.

Do you guys think a discount can be negotiated? I haven't ordered just yet but am planning on it this week.

If so, how much is an amount to negotiate? It's kind if tough to negotiate since its a pre order and they know you want the car in advance.

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe I should just go with a Dinan Stage 2 for my 6er? It's $3500 and performance boost seem to match closer to the M6?

Power isn't everything when it comes to performance. You would need to upgrade suspension, brakes, and still not be where the M6 is. It even has different steering. The body might look the same, but it's a completely different car. One of the M6 videos on here somewhere noted that the M6 only shares 20% of its parts with its 6er siblings.

Tunes/chips are great but an M6 is an M6.

Also depends on the kind of driving you tend to do. In the stop light drag races, there's no point to having an M6. A Dinan tune will get you what you want for that purpose.

For twisters or the track, M6 all the way, and that kind of performance has to be treated with respect.

I also was quoted MSRP when I briefly considered an M6, but FWIW you can do a BMW Team USA event and get a $1000 voucher towards any BMW, not much but every bit counts.

wow, that guy is full of something dark, moist and smelly. since when a M6 would be "limited production car" haha, what a joke, seriously a M6, not even a LFA is limited enough imo let alone nothing special M6, he thinks too highly of the cars he sells lol.

of course the price can be negotiated, NOTHING in a BMW dealership can not be negotiated. you might not be able to get a discount right away since the car is SO new, and depending on how many people are waiting for it. But the again, you can get something if you are serious and have the sale person get the sales manager on this with you, always works.

Personally, fully loaded 650i xDrive is a much better overall car than M6, other than the front looks a bit better on the M6, and some more horsepower (which is completely unnecessary and useless on a daily basis driving around town), there is absolutely NOTHING special about the M6 over 650i and that penis looking dated shifter in the M6 just bugs the hell out of me

if you ask me, take a fully loaded 650i, with stunning individual combos, it'll get more look and beat any M6 any day.

Anyone know what dealer margin is on these cars? I mean, the coupe is about $107K MSRP, how much of that does the dealer get? This number will help us all negotiate!

the usual margin for ANY BMW is 7.5%; however, depending on special incentives BMW giving to the dealers, and your purchase history with the dealer, it could change

for example, BMW is giving a $12500 incentive to 650i cab, and my dealer would be more than happy to match that and gives me a total of $25000 discount on a factory order 650i or one from the lot.

Thanks for the reply. It helps out a lot and makes sense. I doubt BMW NA gives any incentives for the F12 M6 since its so new. I would assume they give discounts on cars which they're trying to get rid of or cars that there is more inventory of like the 650. That's awesome they're giving 25k off to you!

I don't doubt you, but I never would have believed a car this new and with pretty solid reviews would be getting these discounts already. Is it the car or do you think it's the economy?
