Does Your Radar Detector Work in the Front Cigarette Lighter??

hey guys...ok first of all i just got my baby a couple days ago i love it!!! i wanted to post pics + review but i just havent had the time but i will soon...in the meanwhile, ive only noticed 1 odd problem & i was wondering if any of you are in the same boat. ok so basically i tried 2 different radar detectors (they are not broken cuz i tried them in my Nissan & they worked) & they wont work in the front cigarette lighter, however they work fine in the armrest cigarette lighter. heres where it gets weird...i tried the ipod charger & it works fine in both cigaratte lighters! so my front lighter works fine (it produces power), but not for radar detectors?? im thinking maybe this is something common on new cars cuz i also tried the detectors on my friends 2007 STI & it didnt work in his lighter either...anyone have any thoughts on this???? I dont wanna even bother going to the dealer cuz theyre gonna say it works fine since it is producing power (i.e. when i tried the ipod charger it worked fine). please help me out guys!!

Escort Didn't Work...

it needs a longer receptacle which Escort sells for $1.50 (or something like that) or go pick up a dual socket that fits in the single socket. That way you can plug in your escort and phone (or anything else you may need),.

yea actually i was thinking to try the dual socket but it looks so ugly IMO lol...and yes im positive i pushed it in all the way...i swiveled it around & everything it def wont work...maybe ill look into that longer receptable danno mentioned, ive never heard of that before...BTW i tried a passport & cheap radio shack brand...neither works...

take it to the dealer, its probably a faulty cigarette lighter. Same thing happened to my car, i thought it was the radar detector until i tried my cellphone charger and it didn't work.
