2007 E92-Lemon

I bought a 2007 E92 from a dealer near me. They werent exactly clear about it being a lemon.

Wondering what I may be able to expect to get for it should I decide to sell it to a private buyer. I love the car but I'm afraid of it. No warranty.

The car is listed as a lemon due to the HPFP. Any dealer will offer me pennies.

Just wondering what you all think is a fair price.

Was it lemoned because of 3 hpfp failures? And if that's the only issue, it's not really a lemon, just unlucky.

yeah, if it's just the HPFP I wouldn't worry about it. The new ones are supposed to work fine. I'd wait and see if it starts giving you problems. If you were scared of it being a lemon, i'm not sure why you bought it in the first place...

Maybe because "They werent exactly clear about it being a lemon."

If it is just the HPFP dont worry about it. They have a very long extended warranty, 120,000 miles I believe.

When I bought my 2009 335i, it was lemon'd in Cali for the HPFP. I had a 3rd party fully inspect the car and it was given all green lights, so I picked up a "lemon" for 29500 with 8500 on the odo.

On the forum, we all can tell when a car is truly a POS and when it's just luck, because we know the cars and their issues. Most people don't, and they don't do the research. That said, good luck on getting a good deal on it. Most are going to run far away.

Oh yeah, your car is fine, if the HPFP is the only problem. Don't be scared of it, you'll take the fun out of it.

How easy would you be able to sell it?

to the OP -- if you plan on keeping it for a long time, you're probably OK.
Otherwise, it may be a problem to resell it

If it wasn't officially "lemoned", it would be as easy as any other 335 e92 to sell.

Not sure why people think buying from a dealer is going to insulate them from lemons, accident damage, etc, and why they decide to look into it only after buying the car. I would never buy a used BMW without a PPI.

I wouldn't sell it. You would lose money based on the lemon title.

my gf had an 09 e93lemon because HPFP was replaced 3 times previously, never gave her ANY problems she owned from 9k miles to 21k miles, plus the HPFP had like a crazy long warrany on them, the depreciation wasnt as bad as expected but she also had the top of the line 19 inch rims and all the goodies in it

Drive it till it dead because its gonna be a bitch to sell. Most people in here will not buy lemon unless its dirt cheap. I bought my CPO of BMW lot for NADA trade-in value, for lemon I would expect to pay WAY below trade-in. (but i personally wouldnt buy it even at that low price)

Wish I would have been able to pick up a local lemon, 2009 e92 with 18k miles, asking 23.5k. But all financers wanted half down minimum.

It has a new HPFP and as of today a new water pump. Although WE all know the HPFP issues, not everyone is willing to listen to it. I have it listed at 22K right now. I'll update the block to reflect any changes.
