6 MT clutch

Does anyone find the clutch position too high on their e90s?
I find myself I have to raise my foot really high to release it all the way up or if my foot is on it i have it partially engaged.

Yes I feel the same. Its taking me longer than most cars to get used to the clutch on this car. Thats saying a lot considering I've had 17 cars in the last 16 years and they have all been manual..

I've been observing it's somewhat high on mine. I haven't deleted CDV yet, but intend to.

I find it okay. All I have ever owned/ driven is BMW manuals, same basic feel and setup imo. I got the BMS clutch stop though, so I have reduced the dead space at the lower end of the pedal travel.

It does release high, compared to most other cars I have owned. It took getting use to. But unless I drive something else, I no longer notice it.

Honestly, ome of the best miss I've done is the eBay clutch stop. Totally improves the shifting on this car. Makes driving smoothly and double clutching way easier

Go to burgertuning.com and get a clutch stop for $10. While you're there get a replacement clutch valve.

help me understand this
The clutch stop is being installed in the upper section of the clotch (steering column section) or the floor section. The picture is not clear to me.
If it's at the top section then that can definately help the position for me but are there any drawbacks because this makes the clutch pressed slightly all the time?

Thank you.

I got it, I got it, its in the top. I just placed an order. Can someone tell me if this may cause any damage to the clutch?

No it won't. Just maybe don't set it at the highest level. Some people have had trouble starting their car without really stomping on the pedal. After you install it, find a hill, put it in neutral and make sure it rolls freely with the car in gear while holding the clutch in.

If you need to bleed your clutch, for instance if you install a modified clutch valve, you may need to remove the stop temporarily. I'm not a mechanic, but I was told this by my mechanic after he initially encountered some difficulty beading the clutch in my e92.

IMO every clutch is different. It is a high release point, but that is better than one that is all the way to the floor. Higher release makes for a quicker release, therefore a faster shift. Really though what everyone likes is going to be different from what someone else likes. If not, every clutch throughout the whole world would be identical.

ok so i got the burger clutch adapter and this sits at the bottom of the floor which makes the pressing shorter.
my complaint was that the starting position of the clutch is too high for me, much higher than the brake for example and i find that foot gets tired.

any solution for this?

Ya I have the BMS stop with all the spacers and I have to press fairly hard every other start to get the car to start. I think I'm going to take one spacer out this weekend.

Greatest $10 I ever spent, love not having to put my foot to the floor to engage the clutch.
