What happened to HPFP?

I haven't seen the discussion or complaints about HPFP for a while. Is the HPFP problem resolved after the software upgrade?

I have a '07 and didn't have any HPFP problem for a long time after the dealer replaced the fuel pump, injections and software upgrade.

It's not totally fixed, but the incidence is greatly reduced. My 2011 E92 had to have its HPFP replaced at around 3,000 miles. I'm at 10,000 and haven't had the problem since.

It's amazing what some bad publicity and untold amount of free repairs will do for a supplier (a.k.a get fired). So yeah, BMW has found a new supplier and the problem has been sharply minimized.

Woot!

didn't they extend the warranty over the HPFPs in some of the older 335's?

It's called a done deal, aka non issue. It's been what, April 2010 since my car has had problems? That's over 2 years. I've been on an extended warranty for 1 1/2 years, and wouldn't you know, zero issues. I understand that BMWs have lots of irritating issues. But it's also a myth that they cannot be fixed. It was always a question of money, and if BMW were going to spend any to resolve the problems.

Why is BMW keep using this HPFP system if there's a lot of issues? Shouldn't they go to another direction? It seems that this system is plaguing the 335i owners. That's the reason I ended up buying 328i to avoid this issues.

there actually is, used to be the intake came off, not anymore (from what I understand). I looked at the diy and thought why bother, nearly every 07-10 was required to have it, why diy? Unless the vehicle is over 120k...
