wat should i look for when buying used 335coupe?
Hi all...newb here.
looking to get a 335 coupe MT.....there's one for $47k with 7k miles on it. that's without haggling. hoping to get it down to at least $45k. is that a good deal? or at least a decent deal? this is going to be my first car purchase, well at least under my name. It looks like it has every option: Cold Weather Package Ski bag Heated front seats Retractable headlight washers Premium Package Sport Package Active Steering Comfort access system Park Distance Control Navigation system Also, I dont really know too much about turbos...i shouldn't have anything to worry bout right? especially since it only has 7k miles. thanks in advance. |

Auto or Manual???
I got everything listed above plus the Active Cruise Control, Rear Shade, transport back to the states for $48K...brand new. IMO....keep pushing for a lower price.

^ You can do better than that.
The used deal sounds a bit high. Do you even want those options? Drop the cold weather etc. and you could get a brand new one for that price. |

Damn thats it!! I got mine for $1400 off MSRP and I ordered it back in August. You should be able to at least get that considering the car has been out for about 10 months now.

ask if the fuel pump has been replaced. if they say yes, have them prove it. Then go on a very long, very aggresive test drive. And also check for the above mentioned oil cooler.

I would rather get a new car for that price. don't let the whole Impulse buy thing get you. I was lucky on mine (impluse buy). take the time to choose your colors, options, etc. trust me, you'll be a lot happier in the end.

Check the repair history of the vehicle!!!
If it has been taken in repair for three (3) times or more in the past year, it will very likely to be a lemon.

About the discounts on a new 335 coupe, you have to remember that it's somewhat regional. Generally speaking the car is still in high demand, with all its problems and all. Some areas will discount the car more than others due to the demand of that specific area. You should be able to do better than a $500 discount. You've done extremely well if you can get more than $1,000 in an area where BMWs are hot.

Not in some areas. The demand for this car still exceeds the supply. I would order what I wanted rather than taking used what someone else chose. Finace rates should be better as well on a new car.

Man, where have you been. It is a completely different market now than that existed in Aug 06. Back then discounts could be had a certain dealers ESPECIALLY on 335i SEDANS. Since January, the coupes have been in short supply and dealer can sell more than their allocations. In fact, if you remember, production of 335is were significantly reduced the past few month due to lack of availability of the engines (additional engine supply was necessary to be put ito the 335i Convert and the 535i). TODAY, $1400 off MSRP would be exceptional. Not saying that it can't be done, but it is not the norm.
