Best polisher for the odd scratch

Hi all

I want to introduce a polisher for the first time on my 328. I have the occasional swirl scratch I want to remove here and there using elbow grease.

Is there a good polish I can use for this task? Since this is the first time I want to address swirls and minor scratches, I dont want to jump right in with a big job using a rotary buffer etc. I dont mind addressing swirls a little at a time.

Any comments, advice appreciated. I have a Metallic Monaco Blue if that is of any help...

I just use 3M rubbing compound. Only works on very faint scratches though.
